Common Cold
Common cold also known as upper respiratory infection in medical terms,is a viral infectious disease of upper respiratory tract (nose and throat) caused by about 200 viruses.
The child gets cold about 3 to 6 times per year and an adult gets 2 to 4 times per year.
The cold symptoms and signs usually appears after two or three days of exposure to virus.
Cold Symptoms
Cold Symptoms rarely appears suddenly it will appear after two to three days of virus exposure.The most common symptoms are include,
- Runny nose
- Coughing
- Sore throat
- Sneezing
- Congestion
- Headache
- Loss of smell
- Fever (Rarely)
- Malaise (Feeling unwell)
- fatigue or Tiredness
Cold Causes
Common cold is caused by viruses,transmission and also by weather.It is a viral infection and caused by the most common virus - rhinovirus.
The common cold virus is transmitted through droplets of air (aerosols) when infected person coughs,sneezes & when he talks.It also spread by hand to hand.
